Director Tony Scott Passes Away

Director Tony Scott passed away yesterday after jumping to his death in Los Angeles.  Word has it that he had recently been diagnosed with an inoperable brain cancer and he chose to go out his own way it would seem.  Scott was the brother of director Ridley Scott, and is best known for his hyper kinetic action films such as Top Gun, Days Of Thunder, Crimson Tide, Man On Fire, and True Romance.   In recent months it was believed that Tom Cruise was working with Scott on a Top Gun sequel to go into production next year but the status of that project is on hold for now.  Scott may not have been as well known as his older brother, but most of us have seen his fantastic action films and grew up in theaters watching his work on screen.  As tribute, check out a few trailers below of some of his films.
