Vin Diesel Says Universal Wants More Riddick

Riddick was the long awaited follow-up to The Chronicles Of Riddick and left many people disappointed.  Made on a budget of just $38 million, the film was ok at best and many left wondering if we really needed more.  Well Universal thinks so according to Vin Diesel.  He posted on his Facebook page the following: "Universal just called me and told me that RIDDICK is number one on the DVD charts. There’s no way in the world RIDDICK would have been made without you guys. You know that. And you guys have been a part of our page since 2012 and remember how arduous a road it was to get the movie made, and to make it rated R, and to do it with such a low budget. It’s a win for all of us and I really, really, really thank you so much. Yeah, I’m kind of excited, and of course, Universal's also saying that they want to develop the next one!"  The movie did make just under $100 million so it was profitable in the end.  Let's just hope if a fourth movie is made it plays more on the strengths of the Riddick character and not so much cheesy dialogue.
