First Look At The Black Lightning Costume

The CW looks to add a new show to their all ready super hero filled lineup this fall when Black Lightning joins them.  Starring Cress Williams and produced by the same team that brings you The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl, Black Lightning is having it's pilot episode directed by Salim Akil from a script that he also wrote.  The CW released this statement from Akil, “I knew way too much about the world as a young boy growing up in Richmond, California,” says Akil. “I was no stranger to violence, death, hopelessness or the feeling that no one cared about what was happening in my life… Comics were a great way for me to escape. I was about 13 when Black Lightning was created, and finally there was a Black Super Hero that gave a damn about our neighborhood and our lives.”  Black Lightning first appeared in DC Comics in 1971 and this Fall will join the live action world on The CW.
