Entertainment Weekly Brings New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Images & Details

This week's edition of Entertainment Weekly is their Fall Movie Preview and while touching on films that are coming out the last half of 2017, it's focus is on the most anticipated films of the season, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.  Along with two covers featuring Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker on one and Daisey Ridley as Rey on the other, we also have several news images from the December 15th film.  We get a look at everyone returning for the sequel as well as at some new characters and more! First let's take a look at those two covers.

First up we have Rey and Luke staring at each other on the planet from the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  The planet is called Ahch-To and apparently Luke is not happy he was found.  From Hamill himself in the article, “[Luke] made a huge mistake in thinking that his nephew was the chosen one, so he invested everything he had in Kylo, much like Obi-Wan did with my character, and he is betrayed, with tragic consequences. Luke feels responsible for that. That’s the primary obstacle he has to rejoining the world and his place in the Jedi hierarchy, you know? It’s that guilt, that feeling that it’s his fault, that he didn’t detect the darkness in him until it was too late….I think he probably looks out on the horizon and wishes that he could be more effective, could be what Obi-Wan wanted him to be, but life is imperfect and without conflict there is no drama. Believe me, you’re going to see a lot of conflict in The Last Jedi. That is for sure.”

The image above features Rey on the planet Ahch-To as well and next up below we have a look at some new aliens from Star Wars: The Last Jedi.  Director Rian Johnson doesn't give a name to the creatures but says they are sort of alien nuns who are faithful to the Force and watching over the Jedi structures on the island.
Just above we have a look at another inhabitant of Ahch-To called a Porg.  Not sure how they play into the film but they look interesting and apparantly important enough to hang out with Chewbacca.

Here we have Finn and new character Rose.  It is known that Finn and Rose have their own adventure in the film and John Boyega had this to say, “Everyone in the space, throughout the galaxy, would have heard about the young Jedi who discovered her powers and defeated Kylo Ren and the young former Stormtrooper who helped save the day. He’s a hero to people like Rose, who fight for the Resistance because their homes have been destroyed by the First Order.”
This image shows off the Casino that it seems Finn and Rose end up at on the planet Canto Bite.  We all know that Casinos and Cantinas in the Star Wars universe is where things will probably go bad.

We know that Finn and Poe are both pilots and here we get a look at both of them piloting various craft in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Here is a look at Adam Driver as Kylo Ren and his new space craft he flies around in the film.

Praetorian Guards are assigned to protect Supreme Leader Snoke.  That's about all that is known about them but let's hope they do something bad ass.

Finally we have a couple of behind the scenes images from the movie including a look at Rian Johnson directing Carrie Fisher as General Leia.  Star Wars: The Last Jedi arrives December 15, 2017 and Entertainment Weekly says more is to come this week.  Trailer perhaps?  We shall see.
